About Us
The Encyclopedia of San Francisco is an ongoing Web-based
project of the San Francisco
Museum and Historical Society. It aims to become the definitive
reference work relating to the rich history of the city of
San Francisco. As a work-in-progress, the encyclopedia is
constantly growing, and is regularly updated with new entries
provided by local scholars and subject experts. The encyclopedia
staff wishes to invite any San Francisco history specialists
or enthusiasts to participate in its development.
